Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 24, 2026

Our commitment to your privacy

QuickRock was built with privacy as a first principle. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information about you. Ever. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Information we collect

None. QuickRock does not collect any personal data, usage data, or device identifiers. The app operates entirely on your Mac and does not communicate with any external servers.

No analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics services such as Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar tools. We have no visibility into how you use the app.

No advertising

QuickRock contains no advertisements and is not connected to any advertising networks or data brokers.

No account required

You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use QuickRock.

Your files and metadata

QuickRock reads image files and their metadata (EXIF, file attributes, Finder tags) solely to display them to you. This data is processed entirely on your Mac and is never transmitted anywhere. QuickRock does not access files outside of folders you explicitly open or grant access to.

App settings, folder bookmarks, and keyboard shortcut preferences are stored locally in your Mac's standard user preferences storage (UserDefaults) and never leave your device.

Sandbox and file access

QuickRock is a sandboxed Mac App Store app. It can only access files and folders that you explicitly choose — either by opening them through the File menu or drag-and-drop, or by adding them to the Granted Folders list in Settings. The app requests read/write access so that Finder tag changes, file moves, renames, and the Trash function work correctly.

Third-party services

QuickRock does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect data. The only third-party platform involved is Apple's Mac App Store, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The bundled OpenEXR decoder (OpenEXR 3.4 / Imath 3.2, BSD-3-Clause licensed) is a static library used solely for image decoding; it does not transmit any data.

Children's privacy

Because QuickRock collects no data whatsoever, it is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13 (COPPA) and children under 16 (GDPR).

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated effective date. Any changes will be reflected in the app's Mac App Store listing.
